SwanScout 506SM - Detachable Magnetic Wireless Charger for Samsung

I received the wireless charger and unpackaged and connected it very easily.

I have been using for several weeks and am very happy with it's function and ease of use. It holds my iPhone at proper angle which locked displays a clock and or cycle pics. I didn't even know my iPhone had that capability!

The charging works great; only have to plug my phone in to charge when traveling in my truck (which is not equipped with wireless charging). I am very satisfied with the unit and keep moving it between rooms, so I will probably purchase another one.

The only con i would say is that you can't change the angle it is at, but otherwise very happy with the charging unit!

I used to have a stationary magsafe charging stand but this one is way better. Having the ability to pop your phone off the stand and still have it charge without having to have a seperate charging cable and brick is super nice. I love the alarm clock function of my iphone when I put it on its side, the stand helps make it look very sleek. The magsafe charger holds my phone just fine and the stand holds the magsafe charger perfectly.

works well - but does get very hot. I'm also not sure why there are 2 seperate cords - charger to base and base to outlet.

This SwanScout 506M is a compact and lightweight magnetic wireless charger stand that doesn't take up much desk space. It performs its core charging function well, and I'm generally satisfied with it, giving it a 4-star rating despite a few quirks with its cable design.

Functionality & Compatibility:
The charger works well. I've successfully used it with my wife's iPhone and, for my daily use, with my Pixel 9 XL equipped with a MagSafe-style case. The magnetic connection is effective for charging in both horizontal and vertical orientations. The detachable charging puck is a clever feature; it's quite compact and could be useful for travel if you want to bring just the puck, though I personally won't be using it that way often.

Cable Design Issues:
My main complaints relate to the cable that is part of the detachable charging puck:

Permanently Attached: The cable is permanently fixed to the charging puck itself. I would have much preferred a USB-C port on the puck, allowing for user-selectable cables in case of damage or for different length requirements.
Color Mismatch: The unit and puck are black, but the cable is white, which is an odd aesthetic choice that stands out.
Excessive Length (when docked): The cable is about 3 feet long. While this might be useful if using the puck detached, it's far longer than needed when the puck is docked on the stand (where 9 inches would suffice), leading to unnecessary cable clutter on the desk. This again highlights the benefit a detachable cable would have offered.

Conclusion:
The SwanScout 506M is a good value for a MagSafe-compatible charging stand, especially with its useful detachable puck feature. It charges compatible devices reliably and has a small footprint. However, the design choices regarding the puck's permanently attached, oddly colored, and overly long (when docked) cable prevent it from being a perfect 5-star product for me. Despite these cable quirks, it functions well and I'm satisfied with its performance, making it a solid 4-star recommendation.

This charger holds my phone securely and charges well. The long cord between the pad and the base is not a great design, but I do like that I can take it with me easily.
